About Me: Peter Gatonye better known for his stage name Pilipili was born in 1980 with a unique musical talent. He ventured seriously into music in 2000 after finishing his O levels. He got his first recording deal in 2001 with producer CHRIS ADWAR of Next Level Studio. In 2002 he signed an album deal with producer TEDD JOSIAH.

At the beginning of his career, he collaborated with Gun B in the hit song “Nampenda" produced by OGOPA DJS. In 2004 he released KAMATA DEM collabo with JUACALI, it was a success. This was followed by MORALE collabo with Ratatat, and UKIMWONA,collabo with Lady S.

He is an award winner in Kisima Music Awards and the Chaguo La Teeniez held in East Africa. He had 4 nominations in the CHAGUO LA TEENIZ AWARDS -1 nomination in the GROOVE GOSPEL AWARDS -5 nominations in the KISIMA AWARDS

He won 3 awards:

1.MALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR 2005
2.BEST COLLABORATION
3.BEST SONG

He is a respected songwriter especially in Swahili language. His first album FUNGUA MLANGO is still on sale. Watch out for the next Album out soon.
